Demands for nondestructive testing (NDT) of wires by the

use of MRT is becoming ever more common as it is an

effective and practical method to inspect a wide range of wire

ropes.

 

Electromagnetic inspection has been used for steel wire rope

NDT for many decades. With technological advancements in

magnets, sensors and available computing power the MRT

system today provides ever more detailed data. This data can

be used to make decisions to prolong the use of a wire and/or

to discard/do cutbacks and thereby making the installation

more cost effective.
